Responding to the Needs of Our Community

The newest and greatest addition - Camp Civitan recently acquired its respite licensing and offers year round respite services to our campers and their families. Families at last can obtain the respite they need so badly - and we are here to help. Respite care provides trained caregivers to help in the care of children and adults with developmental disabilities, providing a break for families, guardians or foster parents.

A Step Beyond Camp
A side from the programs offered at the camp, we have ongoing year round activities throughout the state that enable clients to keep in touch with each other and grow friendships. This program was designed in response to the needs expressed by our community - promoting independence, community functioning and social skills.

This program is a unique socialization program that provides people with developmental disabilities a relaxed atmosphere where they can enjoy a wide variety of fun and stimulating activities with peers. We enjoy topics such as maintaining fitness, health & safety, proper nutrition, and developing good social and interpersonal skills. Special activities include karaoke, bowling, crafts, games, live entertainment, social outings and more.

This program uses 3 hrs respite+ activity fee or $15.00 private pay+ activity fee . Most activities are on site, but occasionally we offer field trips within the community, activity fees are listed for each event. Please check with the site manager for specifics. Each site has their own schedule of events. Please register with the office when you initially sign into the program. We are a licensed vendor with DES/DDD , this will allow you to use respite hours.
